Thought I'd do a thread on the early-mid 80's new wave group 'Industry'. In 1983, they released a self-titled 5 song EP that produced their only hit on the Billboard Charts with the song State of the Nation (click to hear a sound clip). It was not a big hit (peaked at #81 on Billboard), but it was a great hit that remains my favourite song ever!
(IMG:http://www.geocities.com/industryromantic/industrystate.JPG) They also had another popular favourite with the song Romantic Dreams (click to hear a sound clip), but it failed to reach the Billboard Hot 100, which by that time, they had officially achieved their "15 minutes" |

They are in WMA (Windows Media Player) format. Other than thay, they are on a geocities webpage. When too many people view them too quickly, you have to wait like 30 minutes til they work again, but I made them small enough in size so that probably wouldn't happen :iconfuzed They should work now (IMG:http://forums.i80s.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Oh yeah Firefox. It often has troubles with WMA files. I never did figure out how to get Windows Meida Player to work properly with Firefox. |

i guess it may have something to do with MS and Firefox being direct competitors with each other as far as browsers go. |

I remember hearing the song (State of the Nation) on one of the college stations. It was quite intricate - far beyond the featured garage bands of the time (though many garage bands do sound great - just poorly produced when compared to other groups). The song was a keeper, so I bought the album. I don't recall anything other tracks wowing me.
Frontman Jon Carin was quite a musician, though. I am still amazed at his projects: "Carin played keyboards for Bryan Ferry at Live Aid. Carin has also worked with Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend, the Psychedelic Furs, and Corey Hart. In 1998, Carin recorded Meat the Honky with Honky Tonk, a band formed by former Love Spit Love guitarist Richard Fortus. Carin was also Roger Waters' keyboardist for his 1999 tour. ~ Michael Sutton, All Music Guide" http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/arti...,447319,00.html Did I mention that I really enjoy Pink Floyd?.. Thanks for reminding me of that song. Brings back lots of memories. I must of had it on one of my mix tapes back in the day. It is going on my iTunes as long as I can find it.
